Applying for Visa
To apply for a visa, please choose different types of visa for Thailand from menu on the left
Important!: We recommend that the date of applying for visa be between the minimum of one month and the maximum of two months prior to the date of your departure.
There are 2 ways to apply visa:
1. In person
To apply visa in person after an appointment, Please follow step below:
1.1 You need to prepare all required documents and fill in application form(s) Download
1.2 Walk-in hours for visa application are Monday – Friday (except holidays) 9:00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m. Walk-in is temporarily suspended.
1.3 Processing time could take longer than 5 working days during high season.
1.4 The visa application must be submitted to E-mail visa@thaiembassy.no for pre-approval not less than 14 days prior to the expected date of departure. The Royal Thai Embassy will ONLY consider a complete application and reserves the right to ask for further documentation.
Please note that the Royal Thai Embassy shall not be liable or responsible in any manner whatsoever for any delay in processing or grant or rejection of the visa application of any applicant.
2. Via post TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
To apply visa by mail usually takes longer time to proceed. Usual process takes approximately 14 working days or longer without mailing time. When submitting an application by mail, please include:
2.1 Filled in and signed application form(s) Download and all required documents
2.2 a self-addressed stamped envelope with sufficient postage stamps is required (envelope size 20 cm x 27 cm and 235 NOK of stamp with track number from Posten)
The Embassy will not be responsible for lost, damage, delay or misdirected mail.
Please note that there are some nationalities that require:
1. Additional documents
2. Health Requirement
Applicants whose nationalities are not Norwegian can only apply for some types of visa to Thailand, only if they have one of the following evidence;
1. Proof of residence in Norway, or
2. Proof shown that he or she is working or studying in Norway, or
3. Proof shown that he or she is visiting friends or family in Norway (such as letter of guarantee), or
4. Other proofs why he or she needs to apply for Visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo
Important:
Applicants are advised to submit all documents, requested for consideration of the Embassy, failure to do so may result in delay or refusal to process your application.
The Visa Exemption scheme is for the purpose of Tourism only. Misuse of the Visa Exemption scheme can result in entry ban. Applicants are advised to have an appropriate visa to enter Thailand.
