On 16 February 2020, H.E. Ms. Karntimon Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, attended the 100 days merit-making ceremony in remembrance of Prarajapariyudyalungkarn, the former abbot of Wat Thai Gardermoen. This ceremony was attended by 13 Thai monks from the Thai temples in Norway and in Thailand and about 100 Thai Buddhists in Norway.
Prarajapariyudyalungkarn or known as “Luang Poo” among Thai communities in Norway, was provincial patriarch of Buriram Province in Thailand before moving to Norway 10 years ago. Throughout his times in Norway, Luang Poo had done so much for the Thai communities and Thai temples in Norway and was widely respected. Although his reverence passing on 14 November 2019, his graciousness will always be remembered by Thai people in Norway.
