The Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo organized the following activities to celebrate the auspicious occasion of the Coronation of H.M. King Rama X during 4–6 May B.E. 2562 (2019):
1. Religious Ceremony to mark the Coronation of H.M. the King
On 4 May 2019, the Ambassador led the officials at the Embassy and approximately 30 Thai people in a religious ceremony held at Wat Thai Norway. The ceremony included traditional Buddhist merit-making rituals performed by 14 monks from Thai temples in Norway. A special exhibition for the coronation ceremony was also displayed at the venue.
On 5 May 2019, Miss Mathurawee Wisuthakul, Minister Counsellor together with the Thai Honorary Consul-General to Iceland and approximately 100 Thai people attended a Buddhist ceremony at Wat Thai Iceland. The ceremony included traditional Buddhist merit-making rituals and prayers by 4 monks.
2. Charity Event in honour of H.M. the King
On 4 May 2019, Miss Pichayada Poomlaochaeng, Counsellor together with representatives of the Thai-Norway Language and Culture Association and volunteers of Moss kommune organized a big cleaning day at Verket school in Moss. Nearly 50 volunteers, Thai and Norwegians, joined this activities.
3. Live Broadcast of H.M. the King’s Public Audience
On 6 May 2019, the Ambassador led the officials of the Embassy and the Thai community in an event organized simultaneously with the proceedings in Thailand through live television broadcast. Those present had the opportunity to join in the public audience granted by their Majesties the King and the Queen from the balcony of the Suddhaisavarya Prasad Hall in the Grand Palace, and all chanted “Long Live the King”. Thai peoples living in Norway took this opportunity to sign congratulatory messages to the King. A special exhibition for the coronation ceremony was also displayed at the venue.
